When your challan is sent to court for disposal, it means that a traffic violation ticket or challan issued to you has been escalated to the legal authorities for resolution. Here's what you need to know:
  1. Challan Sent to Court:
    • When a traffic challan is sent to court, it signifies that the matter has moved beyond the initial stage of receiving the challan.
    • This typically happens when the individual who received the challan decides to contest it in court rather than paying the fine or fail to pay within the time stipulated.
  2. Reasons for Contesting:
    • People may choose to contest a challan for various reasons, such as disputing the violation, seeking a reduction in the penalty, or defending themselves against the charges.
  3. Legal Process:
    • Once a challan is sent to court, it becomes part of the legal process, and the court will schedule a hearing or proceeding to address the matter.
    • You may receive a notice from the court with details about the hearing date and location.
  4. Disposition in Court:
    • During the court proceedings, both the prosecution (usually represented by the traffic police) and the individual contesting the challan will present their arguments and evidence.
    • The court will make a decision based on the merits of the case.
  5. Outcome:
    • The outcome of the court proceedings can vary. The court may dismiss the challan if it finds in favor of the individual contesting it, or it may uphold the violation and impose penalties as per the law.
  6. Challan Sent to Regular Court:
    • In some cases, if there are issues with processing the challan through a virtual court due to issues like an invalid mobile number, the challan may be disposed of in a regular physical court.
  7. How to Dispose of Challan in Court:
    • To dispose of a challan in court, you need to attend the court hearing, present your case, and follow the legal process as directed by the court.

You can visit the nearest police station if you don't know how to handle a challan at Court. By visiting your local P.S., you can clear all the fines owed together. Payments for traffic violations or payments. Enter the vehicle number and the type of violation you are paying for.
