What to do for recovery of amount

Can I file FIR against someone for not returning money he owes me? I dont have any written proof but i have some whatsapp conversation screenshots.

FIR cannot be filed by you
It is registered by police
You can file a complaint against them.
You can also send them a strong legal notice.
You can file a recovery suit .

But for that need to know few things.
For what they owe you money for what do you do etc etc

this is a civil offence is you have to recover the amount and in order to lodge an FIR you need to show that cheating and forgery took place against you by the said person and then police will lodge the complaint

Unless there is cheating or some criminal act , you can’t lodge FIR, but you can file civil recovery suit against him and these whatsapp conversation will help you in proving your evidence that you have given him the amount.

You will have to go for a legal notice to be served to him, followed by filing a suit for recovery of money in the concerned jurisdiction. No fir needed. As for proof, the content of conversations need to be scrutinized.

It is not possible to recover money by filing an FIR. The only way to recover money is by filing a civil suit for which one percent court fee is payable on the amount which is sought to be recovered. Rest of the advice can only follow once i understand the whole dispute.

It is not a crime. To recover the money, a civil lawsuit can be filed. It depends on what evidence you can provide to prove the other party has defrauded you. If you do not, the matter will be treated as civil and no FIR will be filed.
