Can I file an FIR for not returning money someone owes me if I don't have written proof but have WhatsApp conversation screenshots? What are the options for filing a police complaint for recovery of money or an online complaint for not returning money?
Advocate Chetan Rai Wahi answered
It is not possible to recover money simply by filing an FIR for not returning money. The best course of action is to file a civil suit for recovery, which requires a court fee (usually 1% of the amount sought). If you need further assistance, I would need more details about the dispute. Regards.
