Pet dog in a society causing problem what can I do

23-Jun-2023 (In Civil Law)
I live in a government housing complex. A family in our community has pet dogs that are violent. The dogs have already caused harm to a boy in society and many others. On complaining to the family owing those dogs they simply reject all claims and in return start arguing. I want to know what legal measures can be taken against them so that no harm comes to other people. I would also like to inform that many people of the society are in support of this claim.

The AWBI Rules, Municipal Laws, IPC and PCA Act are very clear.A healthy pet dog, which is vaccinated and free from any disease can't be removed or destroyed or even picked by Municipality. Also your query is very unclear as to what kind of hard has the dog cause to you all.

sir,
you can lodge a criminal complaint before concerned police station for disturbing public peace and for animal cruelty.Hi
you can take following legal steps
1 if you are in a housing society first you should write complaint to the society , it is society's absolute responsibility to take action against the owners who make other residence life miserable ,it is public nuisance.

2.Make a police complaint, do not have to produce any evidence let police call them and investigate.

3. Send them a legal notice through a lawyer for causing you trouble and send the same to society management
The act what they do will come under public nuisance, so police should take a complaint.

if police do not take any action , you need to approach a criminal court with a private complaint.
You can also approach deputy registrar of your area and file a complaint.
all the steps you can do it yourself except sending them a legal notice,
You should take this strongly before the society administration.if every family in the building start troubling each other and challenge others for evidence or proof , what will be the situation, so society administration has the authority to take action and warn/fine the flat owner for this deliberate torture.

I would like to clear that Supreme Court of India passed an Interim order on the 18th Nov 2015 in favour of street Dog. There can be no trace of doubt that there has to be compassion for dogs and that they should not be killed in an indiscriminate manner. The Hon'ble Supreme Court quoted in his interim order (but indubitably the lives of the human beings are to be saved and one should not suffer due to dog bite because of administrative lapse)
There is also law for RWA and Society .Any RWA cannot ban residents from keeping pets even by obtaining a consensus. There cannot be any discrimination on size of pets allowed in the housing society and Dog Barking is not a valid reason to impose any pet related ban, but have a
