In husband-wife court cases involving maintenance or financial disputes, a wife may use the Right to Information (RTI) Act to seek her husband's salary details, but only under certain conditions. Salary information of public servants is generally disclosable under RTI since it is funded by public money, while private employee's salary details are treated as personal information and protected under Section 8(1)(j), unless a larger public interest is proven. Courts have recognized that income disclosure is important for fair maintenance decisions, but privacy rights are balanced against the right to information. RTI applications can be filed online at rtionline.gov.in, specifying the public authority and the information sought.

Under the RTI Act, you can file an RTI directed to the department to provide with the standard salary and its break up at his post. Post that, if there is a discrepancy between the evidence given to court and the RTI answer, you can file a case against him for perjury & cheating.
