Lifting of existing building with NO common wall.

04-Jul-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi Sir/mam,nWe are residing in individual house. Our neighbor who has not left space surrounding their house. We have one wall which is their wall and we did not construct wall because it was not necessary as they did not leave space in their land. But we have left spaces on all sides. Now they are saying they want to lift their building with jockey which is a latest technology and they are saying they need only 1inch space to lift without damaging our property. But we are having safety issue to our house as if they are going to work there will be a gap below and anyone can come inside our house as we dont have our wall and they are saying they will cut some of our ceiling and they will rectify and construct it again after the work but while lifting if incase there is a problem and their building falls or touches our building then it will damage our ceiling and health of our building. We are showing objection considering all these hassle. What is the going forward law for this?

If any damage is caused by your neighbour then it will be his responsibility and he is liable for all civil and criminal acts. If you object to your neighbour's idea to lift his house then he has to do it at his own risk. Any damage to the property or person will lead to appropriate action.

You don't have to allow your neighbor to do the construction which damages your property. You can file a suit against them and stop this process.. You can contact me for further clarifications if needed
