Is it mandatory to change my name in educational certificates?

13-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
Once I change my name in government gazzate in my state, is it mandatory to change my name in all my educational certificates or is it enough to submit name change affidavit wherever required? If I don't change my name in educational certificates, will be any problem when I go to foreign countries or apply for VISA?

There's no need to change your name in each and every certificate. But you need to attach attested copy of the name change certificate whenever it is required. Also carry the original for verification purposes.

Yes, you have to change your name in all respective certificates based on the gazette copy issued from Govt. if, not then you can't able to apply or pursue any course in regard to foreign terms. so kindly based on your gutzeit copy approach your educational institution to change your name accordingly.

To change your name, you need to follow a few steps. Firstly, prepare an affidavit that states your current name and the new name you want to adopt. Secondly, publish the name change announcement in two newspapers - one in the local language and the other in English. Next, apply for a Gazette Notification after the announcement has been published. The Gazette Notification will be issued by the government and will contain your old name and the new name you wish to adopt. You will also need to update your identity documents such as Aadhaar card, passport, driving license, and other official documents with the new name. Lastly, update your name on other registrations like bank accounts, insurance policies, etc. It is advisable to consult a documentation lawyer to guide you through the process of changing your name legally in India, as they can help you with the affidavit, publication, Gazette Notification, and other legal requirements.
