You can not withdraw the complaint but since he has already filed quashing petition and the concerned high court has directed the police to investigate the matter , you during the pendency of the quashing application give the statement to the police that you do not wish to continue this matter as the matter has been amicably settled or I have changed the mind as it took more than 1 year in disposing of.

You must appear before the court and withdraw the case if you don't want to persue it. But if you don't appear then it may happen that the boy files a defamation case and other cases aginst you. You should have given it a thought earlier before filing the FIR.
