Sir, in these kind of cases it is advisable to get the work regularised. We may also file an RTI to know the status of other godowns in the area which are operating.

Have you taken any permission to operate the godown in a residential area? If not, the mere ground that other people are operating godowns, albeit more hazardous, and paying bribes would not hold much ground. You cannot be safeguarded for an illegal activity merely because others are not proceeded against. However, I would need more information about your operations and basis that, advise upon the applicable law.

Hi, Law is equal for everyone, it doesn't depend on the financial condition of a person. Before suggesting you anything I want me to clarify on the following points:
1. Weather you pay property tax for the said godown portion of your house as domestic or non domestic?
2. Is there any notification for the banned activities in the said locality of your residence by MCD?
3. Have you ever got any reason in writing from MCD for shutting down your business from the said area?

Please provide me the details for the said points so that I may suggest you better.

Sir if its a residential complex then running a godown there is prohibited being a residential area a commercial business cannot be run therefore if MCD is troubling you regarding the same then there are ways to work it out,Regarding other people or association of people who are running such godowns it can be complained at different authorities.
