As per new Indian Criminal law, IPC Section 8 has been replaced with BNS Section 2 with effect from July 1, 2024.
(Word "transgender” is added apart from genders of "male" and "female".)

Please refer to BNS 2 for updated procedures & punishments.

The pronoun ?he? and its derivatives are used for any person, whether male or female.
