What legal action can be taken against mental harassment by girlfriend

Hi Recently I had a breakup with my girlfriend and I wasn't the honest one against her due to some reasons which I couldn't handle. Her past relationships bothered me everytime and I always tried to have a separation from her. Well we had a relation for approx 1 year and after the breakup I pleaded guilty for everything which I said about her to other people and begged for mercy. And we didn't had a conversation for about 4 months. And today she called my mother and told everything about what was going on between us and she also added some false statements against me to defame me. She was the one who approached me and today she told my mother that I was the one who asked for the relationship. I need a remedy against her and a proceeding against her false statements and for the mental abuse she made on my mother. Even after I have asked to forgive me she is still holding on the same and defaming me unnecessarily. What actions should I take against her. Help.
