Regarding sending of legal notice to office address which was causing

My brother-in n-law is working as a software engineer for a banking domine in Canada. He is getting the legal notice to his office mail and address. As he was working in a secured domin, he is getting problem from his HR saying that, not to get personals to email or office address. What type of legal action can we take for not coming the legal notice to his office address?
Yes , as such first we need to know that how Notice are served and the reason of sending the notices so that it can be identified kindly let me know the details the reason as such no one have Right to send unwanted notices to any which effects the reputation of others
