How to check photo copy of notary is fake or real?

1. I have a Photo copy of a divorce on notary but i have no idea whether it is real or fake. How can i check the same? we are victim of a big fraud 2. where to complaint against the lawyer who has taken our money without getting any paper singed 5 months before and has not done anything in our case? where should i approach to get my money back. i have given him money through cheque without any sign.
You can directly approach the notary to verify it.You can also approach the bar council with his registration number to find out that he is permitted to notarised the documents.? Does he has a licence for it ? Against the lawyers if you have proof you can file complaint against him,and write to the Bar council also
