Caste certificate when migrated from one state to another

I born,brought up & studied in andhrapradesh. My caste is X/Y. In andhrapradesh our caste certificate contains both X/ Y which comes under OBC category. In my caste certificate I mentioned caste as X and my wife's (from andhra pradesh) caste certificate it is mentioned as Y. I have two kids who were born in Andhra Pradesh. I joined in a bank in Karnataka in 2010, now mykids are studying from nursery in karnataka. In Karnataka Y caste comes under ST Schedule Tribe. Can I enter my kids caste as Y and claim ST category?
First of all you need to check with the state you moved because the caste listing differs each state, the castes are listed ST category in your previous state may be listed in OBC category in present state you moved, It differs state to state. Please check with the local corporation authorities about the description of the caste and then you can decide what should be done.
