Applying for a Canada visa? Here is what you should know

However, it is important to note that you may not be able to reapply for six months if you have received a refusal under any category. Why your visa was rejected and how you can prevent a refusal

1. Incomplete or inaccurate supporting documents

Making sure that your information is complete and its correctness is of paramount importance. You must make sure that you review all the documents very carefully. Minor mistakes would lead to refusal. Make sure that you prepare a checklist of all the documents required so they are complete. Check every document thoroughly before submitting it.

2. The visa officer has reservations regarding your intention in applying for the visa

When applying for a visitor's visa to Canada, you must prove your intent “ not to immigrate” . You must prove that you have strong ties to your home country, such as family, property, and employment. If you are unable to prove that you have strong ties to return to your home country, it might make the visa officer suspicious of your intent and your visa might get refused.

3. Failure to show adequate financial resources to finance your travel to and stay in Canada

If you are unable to prove that you have sufficient funds for your trip including costs of accommodation during your stay in Canada, your visa request will be refused. Make sure that you attach the appropriate bank statements to demonstrate your source of funds.

2. Correct the initial mistakes

Make sure the initial mistakes that you made are now corrected. Ensure that you furnish a reason to the authorities for not submitting this information before. This new information should have fresh evidence in your favor, eg.- an updated bank statement showing that you have sufficient funds to support your stay in Canada. Where you did not before.
