I am Hindu. Wife is residing separately for 22 months. Filed 498a against me. I got anticipatory bail. I have also returned her stuff i. e. her utensils, clothes etc. No gold was given in marriage. Then she filed DV case. Yesterdayt was first date of my case. Magistrate asked both of us whether we want to go for compromise. I requested him to send the matter for mediation. My lawyer wrote an application on which both lawyers and we both signed. When I read it, there was written that opponent (I) has requested for mediation and complainant ( wife) has agreed for it. There was a word in it, pursis. What does the word 'Pursis' exactly mean?
Pursis means party not interested to run the case. Furthermore after compromise finalized then pursis filed by applicant or both the parties i. e. Complainant vs opponent. it is material to note that pursis only given after both the parties finalized settlement conditions and acted upon it.
