Whoever commits hacking shall be punished with imprisonment up to three years, or with fine which may extend upto two lakh rupees, or with both.
Yes you might be if she press charges as this against her privacy. And privacy laws are getting stricter

Hacking a social media account or any account in electronic form is deemed illegal as per Section 43 of the Information Technology Act. it is made punishable by section 66 of the Act and the punishment is UPTO 3 (THREE) YEARS or a fine UPTO Rs. 5 Lakh or BOTH. Nowadays, it is deemed as a serious offence. My advise to you would be to not agree to having done this to anybody at all. Consult a lawyer to know your immediate steps.
