Device seized by police for checking cp. Not sure of legal procedures

Hi,
I was recently called to police station 5 months back and upon searching my phone they found about some 6 cp videos along with other 18+ adult videos (downloaded through whatsapp). They couldn't find any whatsapp group since i had left such adult groups many months before this incident. The police informed me that they are seizing the device for forensic check and let me go.
I am not sure what are the legal procedures, cases charged upon. All they told was there is no issues as of now.
You should take the receipt number or crime number of your case from the police station . You can approach the jurisdictional court of that police station and you can get the mobile phone through court order. you have the right to know what's the reason for your mobile custody and after the police proceedings, you will get the mobile phone.
