CASE DISPOSED - CONTESTED-- DECREED WITH COST

28-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, We have a case on our home where the opposite party's name is in Petitioner and my dad's name is in Respondent. I checked the case status online today (27-01-2020) and below is the case status. First Hearing Date: 06th September 2013 Decision Date: 20th February 2014 Case Status: CASE DISPOSED Nature of Disposal: Contested--Decreed with cost What is the meaning of this? We are not aware of anything in this regard and I'm shocked to read online that case "disposed" means case is closed and "Decreed with cost" means the person in Petitioner has won the case. Can someone please explain me about this

What is the meaning of contested decree?

If the second party fails to appear, despite notice being served, the court will proceed ex parte against the defendant. The suit will be decreed ex parti in favor of the plaintiff. If the second party contests the case, it is referred to as a contested order or case.

Contested and decreed with cost means you have already entered appearance in the case either personally or through an advocate. You have to bear the expenses shown by them in the cost memo filed by the Plaintiff.
