I want to disown my son from my property which is earned by me and also from our ancestral property. Kindly suggest the procedure for it. Is it necessary to publish this in newspapers, if yes in how many newspapers.

As for as I concern you can disown (eject) your son from the property which your own earned property by giving him a legal notice through the lawyer that you don't want to share your own earned property with you that is why you will not be co-owner of my self acquired property, there after your part is over and burder will be shifted upon your son to react upon the legal notice and take legal steps. It is not compulsary that you publish in newspaper about it but you can take this steps for more security.
So for as the ancestral property is concern you can not disown (eject) your son from the ancestral property.

Willing to 'disown' your own son is morally and socially not good. There can be many other ways to resolve family disputes, but breaking a relation can definitely never be a tool to resolve a dispute..

But, being a Lawyer, I will have to answer your question on legal point of view:-

ANS. You can stop your son from getting anything from your self-acquired property, but not from the ancestral property. He can get his share from ancestral property.

There is no such thing as disowning a relationship in Law. Publishing a Public Notice in newspapers will only give intimation to the general public that you now keep no relationship with your son. But he will remain your son in the eyes of Law, and being your son, his rights in ancestral property cannot be extinguished.

Indian law does not have a disowning child statute, but parents can cut their children off financially and emotionally without fear of legal consequences. Parents may publish an announcement in two newspapers widely circulated in the area.
