How can I know status of property whether self acquired or ancestral?

23-Dec-2023 (In Property Law)

In year 2002, My Grandfather by way of Registered Testament or Will bequeathed the property (probably acquired by his father) in Punjab equally to my father and Uncle. After my Grandfather expired in year 2006, the property by way of mutation transferred in the name of father and Uncle in the land revenue records. Let me know if the share of property on the name of my father living with me will be his self-acquired property or remains ancestral one.

It looks your property is agricultural land. Though u have not specified.

For knowing the nature of property, in your grandfather hand and then subsequently in your father name.

Obtain "fard jamabandi" from the concerned "Patwari" (revenue official at lowest end), of your land.

For the above khasra numbers, of land property and name of village, Tehsil and District will be required.

I, after reading the Jamabandi , emanating from from your great grandfather (father, father's, father) can of certainty, spell out nature of property.
