Can my neighbour construct boundary wall adjacent to my boundary

MY Neighbor has started building his new home without leaving any distance from one side of my boundary wall. his pillars are adjacent to my boundary wall. is it legal or illegal?? What are the boundary wall rules in India? can i stop him from doing this?? if yes, then how?? plz help

hi this situation totally depends on which location your property is based. in case of some unauthorised colony like in delhi people do not follow this procedure since they do not come under the guidelines of municipality and are not restricted by such procedure, however if this activity is causing any damage to you then you are definitely in the liberty to seek a stay on such construction.

Whether there is any gap given in the site plan between two property. If your neighbor is constructing in his plot you can't stop him but if because of his construction your building is getting damaged you can take action against him. There is no such law that there should be gap between two buildings.
