You have wanted to know through your question whether we both the parties who are married can sign an MOU Memorandum of Understanding that neither the party especially the boy will demand dowry nor harass for dowryBy doing this, through such an agreement, you cannot say that we will not ask for dowry tomorrow. You cannot decide what will happen in the future, therefore, any agreement made regarding the future is void

Well, it doesn't stop the aggrieved party to file Criminal Cases under the Prevention of Dowry Act and Dowry Prohibition Act as well as a Civil Case against that other party who (Hubby) and his or her relatives and In laws has demanded the Dowry.

No. If we describe under what circumstances we have put our signature in that MOU and if we establish this fact that certain gift or dowry has been given after signing of MOU under demand and compulsion. If you share the contents of MOU then it will be more easy to answer. Thanks

Hello signing of the mou can not debar other person from filing the case as there could be change in circumstances after filing the mou. However this mou can help you in your defense if any false case is initiated or registered against you.

Firstly you have to challenge the sanctity of the MOU and in what conditions it was signed and what prompted you to abide by the terms and conditions of the MOU. generally are signed between both the parties to clarify all the points of issue and and for their settlement . In case any dispute arises and one of the party do not comply with the terms and conditions then the aggrieved party can the door of the court to get his or her grievance settled.
