The mediation process is highly successful since it opens up a dialogue in a controlled manner.
If there are extreme differences with respect to the claims on each side then mediation is a platform which can be utilised to bridge those gaps and see to it that an amicable settlement is reached.
A counter case for filing false cases against you can be initiated only after the conclusion of the trial in those cases or in the event of such cases being quashed by the High Court. Until such time you will not have a remedy against your wife for filing false cases.

1) mediation is a process based on consent of both parties. so one cannot say the success rate without knowing the background. however as it is a win-win process, it is fairly successful. 2) defamation can only be proved by satisfying the ingredients of the offence, one of which is publication. since dv/ dowry or court cases in general are private and not published to the world at large, you may not be able to prove defamation. however if she has lied and you have proof, you can file a case for 'perjury' and ask for dismissal as well as punishment.
