Hi, mediation at any level is not mandatory as it is not forced action. However, it is highly recommended that you attend mediation wherever it is being order at least for once. First thing it gives you an opportunity to talk and resolve things peacefully. Secondly even if it fails, you are not to be blamed for being uncooperative and thirdly, you will get an idea of what is going on in the minds of opposite party through them only. As during such battles there are several mouths that speak several things. So please go and attend the mediation for your own good.
