Making 1000 fake mark sheets or certificates of high school and intermediate are criminal offences punishable under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These attract the following penal provisions:

1. Section 465 IPC deals with the offence of forgery. It states that whoever forges a document or any part of a document with the intention of causing damage or injury to the public or any person, or to
support any claim or title, or to cause any person to part with property, or to enter into any express or implied contract, or with intent to commit fraud or that fraud may be committed, commits forgery which shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with a fine, or with both.

2. Section 468 IPC deals with the offence of forgery for the purpose of cheating. It states that whoever forges a document with the intention of using it to cheat another person or to cause damage or injury to any person, knowing that such document is forged, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to a fine.

3. Section 471 IPC deals with the offence of using a forged document as genuine. It states that whoever uses as genuine any document which he knows or has reason to believe to be forged, shall be punished in the same manner as if he had forged such documents i.e., with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with a fine, or with both.
