Can we settle 376 rape case in Lok adalath.

Hi,
I'm accused in breach of promise on marriage and she has filed case under section 376, 420 rape case. Now the victim wants to compromise for certain amount. Can we settle this case in lokadala?

According to the recent supreme court rulings, there will be no compromise allowed in the cases like rape, attempt to rape, as these are considered as the crimes against the whole society.

No. not possible. 376 is henious crime and compoundable offence, it's so serious in law. Better get the certified copy of FIR/CC and file a Quash petition in High Court. High court will quash the case completely. You file joint memo of compromise and affidavit of the girl in quash petition.

Sec 376, 420 are non-compoundable offences you cannot settle it in the lok Adalat but you have only chance of getting it quashed on compromis by the Hon'ble High Court but it depends upon the facts of the case
