Without my knowledge my signed blank was given to someone

Last year with my knowledge my brother in law stole the signed blank check and he took money of Rs 50000 from someone near his shop and he gave my signed cheque as guarantee,now the person presented the cheque in bank it bounced and amount he put was Rs1,50,000 Now he is threatening me to take me to court What should I do know

Before answering the above query. It is necessary to know if you have received any legal notice from this person. If yes please reply to the same through an advocate. If not you should send him a legal notice. At the same time you should also take legal action against your brother in law.

have you received a legal notice or any other formal/legal notice? There are many ways to get out of such a situation but it depends on the facts and circumstances of each case. if you didnt take any money fro him, you are not liable for bouncing of cheque.

You shall send a legal notice to your brother in law as well as the person who used your cheque to make your defense in case he files a 138 Ni Act case against you.

You should immediately register criminal complaint against persons involved. Further you should also serve the person with legal notice. You should take services of good legal professional to handle the dispute.

in the present scenario you can file a complaint in the concerned police station and in the complaint you have to write each and every details of incident and try to get back cheque from the said person if possible
