Can i represent in person in the Court and defend my case?

You have the right to defend your case without engaging any lawyer. It is not necessary that you must engage an lawyer. A party in person is allowed to fight his own case in the court with or without a lawyer.
you should be aware of certain difficulties that you may face. No doubt, you would be the master of the facts of your case. But, you should also have a working knowledge of law, procedures and to some extent, the court-craft.

You have to appoint a lawyer for the same, whatever point you have you can place before the Hon'ble Judge by praying for the same through your lawyer and the Hon'ble Judge will surely allow you to put forward your part at the witness box.

Obviously you can defend your case with your lawyer. But you can not defend your case as lawyer. You can defend your case inpersonam. Now, defense lawyer is must because you don't know how to plead before the Ld. Court. You don't know what to say and what to suppress facts. For these your lawyer can help you. But you can plead with your lawyer.

mostly no. u have to hire a lawyer because the judge may not allow it . This is because in case of appeal u can say that u were not represented properly in the caseand as such the case should be dismissed. However some case may allw like family court , consumer court. It is better to hire a lawyer as law point, procedure are not known to layman.
