Wrong xerox of passport given to the hotel what are the consequences

a wrong (false) xerox photocopy of Indian visa had been used to stay at a Hotel. What (how) that law violation is qualified by Indian law cod? is it civil case or criminal case ? What (which) numbers/articles of Indian law cod? it is corresponding to. Which specific area of law that subject is belonging -- documents, visa, immigration etc. ? Please send your respond.
Its a criminal offence.. 419 of IPC and some provisions of passports act.. it is duty of hotelier to verify the authenticity of documents tender to him as a identity proof.. however police complaint can be filed by him if he finds such deception

Hi it is a criminal offense to give present or submit wrong or false document to anyone specially government offices. It is false representation, forgery of documents, it comes under criminal procedure act and passport act. punishment for forgery 2yrs + fine + punishment under passport act + fine.

If u have used wrong passport / false passport, you fall under the category of criminal offence.
U can be charged for cheating and forgery of passport under the Indian penal code and also under the passport act.
If any person or institute has suffered and monetary loss that u will also have to face civil liability to that extent.
