11-Jan-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
My grandmother passed away...I don't know where is my father...my chacha is claiming he will give me one flat from inherited property but no idea about will. Do I have the legal right to see the copy of will. If yes then how. Also, any chances that they will modify the will.

1. Firstly , You find-out any of the document which regards the handwritten will in your own house or any bank locker . Then , You have to checked out your nearest Registrar Office Record room to write an application in the name of Regisrar & detailed information of one of your Grandmother/Grandfather .

2. Then , If any of the will is found during the time of search in the registrar record room then you pay some fees for search & for copies of such will .

3. If the will is not registered then , then it is not in the Registrar office record room , the chances of such will one in your own house otherwise it is safe depositing in bank locker . Cheked-out .

4 . If Chacha claiming on one flat which as per your querry it is inherited . Don't trust on talking facts , Go in your land records as per your area jurisdiction and watch the absolute flat owner in the property record such Property Registered Card/ Extact 8A / Haqq Nondni & if will is making and not registered then you can challenge the will easily .

You have absolute right to see the Will for which you can write a letter to the person in his whose power or possession the original Will is lying calling upon him to come with the Will for open reading in front of other acquaintances and family members. Chances of modification or fabrication of an unregistered Will cannot be completely ruled out.

If your grandmother have left will, you have a legal right to see the copy of will. If your grandmother have not made will, then there is no question arises. Will cannot be modify by any person after death of the person who made will.
