there is no certain fee of any lawyer anywhere. it depends on who you engage. it may range from a few thousands to lacs. only that it has to be a fee that could be accounted for income tax. Also, you should look for a competent lawyer who charges you reasonably also, but moreso competent than anything else.

The fees charged by Supreme Court advocates in India can vary significantly based on various factors. Here are some key points to consider regarding Supreme Court advocate fees:
  1. Variability of Fees: The fees charged by Supreme Court advocates are not fixed and can vary widely based on factors such as the complexity of the case, the reputation and experience of the advocate, and the nature of the legal matter.
  2. Consultation Fees: Many advocates charge a consultation fee for the initial meeting or discussion about the case. This fee is usually separate from the overall legal fees.
  3. Retainer Fees: Some clients may enter into retainer agreements with Supreme Court advocates. Under such agreements, clients pay an upfront fee to retain the services of the advocate for a specific period or case.
  4. Per Appearance Fees: In some cases, especially when it comes to specific appearances or hearings in the Supreme Court, advocates may charge fees on a per-appearance basis.
  5. Hourly Billing: For certain matters, advocates may charge fees based on the number of hours spent working on the case. This is more common in complex or time-consuming cases.
  6. Fixed Fees: In straightforward and routine matters, advocates may offer fixed or flat fees for their services.
  7. Contingency Fees: In some cases, advocates may agree to handle a case on a contingency fee basis, where their fees are contingent on winning the case or obtaining a favorable outcome. This is more common in civil litigation cases.
  8. Negotiation: Clients are encouraged to discuss fees with their chosen advocate and negotiate terms that are mutually acceptable.
  9. Legal Aid: For individuals who cannot afford legal representation, government legal aid schemes and pro bono services are available.
It's important to note that the Supreme Court of India has a specific set of rules and guidelines regarding the fees that advocates can charge. Advocates are expected to adhere to these guidelines while determining their fees.
The specific fees charged by a Supreme Court advocate will depend on the unique circumstances of each case and the agreement reached between the advocate and the client. Therefore, it is advisable to have a clear discussion about fees and payment structures with the chosen advocate before engaging their services.
