06-Mar-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
Hi, Need your help. I have a check of 23 Lacs that has bounced with 'Signature differs' and 'Insufficient fund' as the reason given by the bank in Bangalore. I am in the process of filing the Criminal and Civil case. What would be the court fee I need to pay for both cases? Is there a published info on this court fee. Thx

You need not pay court fee on Rs.23 lakhs, just one rupees is court fee because case you will file is criminal case( private complaint). In karnataka it is 1 Re. Make an enquiry about your state court fee and stamp act. For the civil case you will have to pay the court fee on the claimed amount according your state court fee and stamp act

I am quoting your case. You have a check of 23 Lacs that has bounced with 'Signature differs' and 'Insufficient fund' . You better file both Criminal and Civil case. For criminal case there is nominal cost, and some court expenses. But for civil case it would be roughtly 7 percent of the amount you claim. The details of court fee are in teh latest version of KC F AND sv aCT.
