What remedy available when sewage water is supplied in taps?
25-Oct-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
We are tenants at a premier building in Mumbai and recently discovered that during the last maintenance they got the water lines mixed up and for the past several months we have had sewage water in our kitchen taps that is ordinarily used for flushing toilets. Therefore we have ended up drinking, cooking, washing our utensils, clothes and so in sewage water. Wanted to know what is the best way to approach this?
first at all you apply to society ( secretory ) for the repair of sewage, after that society has to inquiry regarding my problem and send report to society . if they are not giving any positive response within 30 day, applicant has right to approach o co-operative court or society registrar have right
From your query, it seems that society has mixed up the water lines during maintenance work. The Society must have got maintenance work done through some contractor so it is the joint responsibility of Society and the said contractor. You may file a consumer complaint against society at Consumer forum for remedy and compensation.
