Divorce for a non registered marriage

14-May-2023 (In Family Law)
Marriage was taken place 8 months ago. No official registration for marriage certificate is done. The only proof is a certificate given by the auditorium where the marriage took place. Wat is the process to legally get a divorce now and how much time will the process take.

It is not clear which religion you belong to. For Hindus, you cannot apply for Divorce within 1 year of marriage, but you can apply for annulment or declaration that the marriage is 'null and void' by filing an appropriate petition under the relevant provisions before the Family Court.

Even if the marriage is un-registered, you can file the case by submitting marriage invitation and marriage photos as proof of marriage.
