Can someone file case under section 420 without any substantial proof

Hello My name is Rahul and someone filled FIR against me in fraud case (i think it comes under 420 or some thing like this ) Actually he gived some amount to 3rd person and that person was my known jst as a friend. ... And now that 3rd person leaved this place and don't know where he is but we hav his address (pune) Now they filled case against me because i live in the same city And they don't have any documentry proof to prove me fraud.....if their relative or any other person will say that they had given money infort of me.....so i think this is not an evidence So please suggest me what to do and what is my saffer side....actually police called me once on my number n asking to come at police station. Now what i have to do.....should i go to police station or what........m student m scared about oll this so plz suggest me what to do
Please note, without concrete proof, police can not lodge FIR against anyone. The opposite party might have filed some complaint against you and your friend/known person. Before lodging the FIR, police conducts investigation / enquiry. On the basis of said enquiry / investigation, the investigating officer will take decision of lodging of FIR or closure of the complaint. Therefore, first of all please check from the police officer about the nature of complaint. Consult an advocate of your choice (you can take our number from Lawrato) and learn about your rights in the police station and then go to police station to meet the investigation officer with proper legal guidance.

By going through your query i guess they drag you inbetween just to grab money from you but do tell me clearly if you have given any gurantee on behalf of some person to any other person or not if yes then then can file case against you as well . Now the question is why they put your name in between . You just need to enquire this from the I.O of the case but with the help of the Advocate only . As you are wrongly involved or they put your name with wrong intention . Dont go without Advocate because you may say something which is not in your favor . I am just trusting your words and suggestiong you . Till the investigation get over be carefull as something can go against you . Hope you have not given any gurantee on behalf of any one .
