Procedure to transfer ownership in magazine printing business

I have started and registered regional magazine printing with RNI on my brother name. My brother wanted to transfer or sold the ownership rights to me. Please advise the procedure and duration to complete this.

Before we could reply we need to know whether the ownership is proprietor / partnership / company. Depending upon the nature of ownership we can advise about the transfer of ownership from your brother's name to your name.

Dear client,
you must consult the registering authority who registered for starting printing of regional magaizine and obtain permission from that authority by placing an application by you brother to transfer the same. You must follow the procedure set by the authority who registered the same.

What are the documents required for changing the ownership of publication?
a) For transfer of ownership from individual owner to individual/ non individual owner: In such cases Affidavit for transfer of ownership, duly authenticated by DM/SDM concerned is required along with all other documents required for issuance of revised registration certificate. If there are more editions from different districts/states, ownership transfer affidavit will
be required from each district/ state. Ownership of all the editions of a title will be transferred simultaneously to one owner only. (Affidavit proforma available on RNI website www.rni.nic.in)

REVISED CERTIFICATES

A fresh declaration is to be made in the case of any change in (a) title (b) language (c) periodicity (d) ownership (e) place of publication (f) place of printing (g) publisher and (h) printer. It will be necessary to apply to the Press Registrar for a revised certificate of registration.

The documents required are given below:

(a) An attested photocopy of the fresh declaration duly authenticated by the magistrate concerned etc. indicating the change(s).

(b) A copy of the latest issue of the publication with correct imprint line, title and date line printed on each page of the publication.

(c) Original Certificate of registration issued by the office of RNI.

(d) If Original Certificate of Registration is lost, damaged, stolen etc., an affidavit duty signed by a magistrate, with a five rupee Indian Postal Order in favour of RNI has to be furnished.

(e) In case of change of ownership, attested photocopy of the transfer deed in respect of ownership, duly authenticated by the magistrate concerned, is also to be submitted.

(f) In case of change of title/language, a copy of the title verification letter is to be submitted.

(g) An affidavit for no foreign tie-up.

The procedure might take about 120 days
