Inheritance of tenancy property

24-Feb-2023 (In Civil Law)
My mother in laws aunt has passed away. I understand that under tenancy law inheritance , the right to tenancy can be transferred to her as She is the legal heir and was taking care of her for the past 10 years and in her illness. Is this correct ? The landlord has put a lock outside the house over our original lock. What should I do? Can I break their lock and enter the house as I have the keys and take possession

Yes,
She can claim tenancy right from landlord. If any nearest relatives are not available. Therefore you should write to landlord and claim tenancy right from him on the basis of legal heir of deceased aunt.
