Property tax pending due on previous owner who is liable to pay

08-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
The actual property owner had constructed 2 house of 60 Yard each. I purchased one property of 60 Yard in 2009. Now it is showing dues before 2009 and I have received notice of 60k for the same for just 60 Yard plot. Even not sure MCG has transferred all his 120 Yard due on my account, because they are refusing to check any data of before 2010. Please suggest what could be done in this regard.

This is his absolute duty to pay his Taxes therefore its his liability; in this context a instant legal notice can be served on him besides that even damages can be claimed through him we can move to civil court as well wherein we can file for damages. Therefore it was his duty to clear it out and we have all the remedy to opt for the civil procedure for asking him the same.

Hi

will glad to help you. You should approach your seller for the due amount and ask them to pay the amount as it is not your responsibility. If he is not ready then file a writ Petition before the Delhi High Court.

You need to know the complete details about your property first, this ideally should have been checkd before purchase of the property . Your any details pls file an RTI and after this any further step can be taken if required
