How get information about my ancestral property

Sir/Madam, I want to collect information about my ancestral property but my father is not telling me anything. So from where I can do so and whom to contact regarding this. Can patwari do something in this regard or anyone else. Plz give me right guidance and thanks in advance.
Yes you can get the information regarding your property ....but atleast you should have some knowlegde like which year property was got named in your ancestors name ...patwari can help but you also do it manually by inspection in the concerned tehsil...

Sir/madam, you can get the copy of your land records from patwari by depositing fee . you can get the jamabandhi which clear your doubt in whose is at present owner of property, copy of mutation will show from where the property comes means give u idea about your ancestors and girdawari is the record of possession.
