Can parents create hindrance in marriage of two consulting adults?

10-Jan-2023 (In Family Law)
Hi, me and my girlfriend are planning to get married either in court or in Arya samaj Mandir. My parents don't approve of our marriage and this is the only option left with us as of now. I wanted to know is there even any possibility of our parents in any way proving any hindrance to our marriage? Is there any way they can legally prohibit our marriage. I am 30 and my girlfriend is 28.

Good evening... I have read your problem and of course you are fully illigible to marry by court under HMA just both of you mutual consent is must and your marriage will be registered just one condition nobody between you should not pending any case related marriage.

Not at all sir. When any child becomes major then legally it doesn't require parents ascent to do anything but these are only Hindu rites where it require. But again I say legally u don't require so they can never create any problem if u both want to get married. If u are scared about their activities, u can get protection from court after marriage.
Thanks n regards

Answer :- you and your girlfriend both are adult . You can marriage in arya samaj mandir or any other temple where you want after that you have to registered your marriage before the marriage registrar. Court only can provide police protection both of you from any kind of threat . Parents of both the parties can not stop to be married both of you

Nothing can come in the way of two consenting adults. Although it would be in the best interest of all that the parents reconcile to the situation. But if it does not happen you may get married as per the proper rites and ceremonies applicable in your case. Make sure you have two independent witnesses and enough photographic proof which you will require at the time of registration of your marriage.
