Divorce attending in our convenience if filed in other city than ours

If divorce papers sent by spouse from one city, can we ask for attending court in our convenience
hi first need to see the contents of the divorce papers filed in the court anf the distance from the court which are filed to your current location and then you could file transfer petition to transfer the case
