Can I marry my cousin sister

06-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
I am 30 yr old Hindu male from Andhra Pradesh. I am in love with my mother's elder brother's daughter's daughter (26 yr old) and we intend marry. My questions are: Is she my first cousin once removed or second cousin. In any case, is it allowed and legal to marry as per HMA. If it void by court of law, what if we still go ahead and marry. Would courts intervene in personal lives of people? Thank you.

you are majors and you can marry, but she becomes daughter for you i think according to your Question, if you marry her your relation will be spoiled and according to hindu law a daughter cannot be married.

Yes .you can marry your cousin sister.
Since she is your maternal uncle daughter.you can't marry your father brother daughter . You go through Hindu marriage act and see what are the prohibited relationships where we can't marry

The relationship that you stated falls within the prohibited degrees of relationship for a valid marriage as per HMA. As the marriage will be void, no legal rights of either parties to the marriage in respect of inheritance, partition, etc. will be recognized. An option open to you is to marry under special marriage act.
