Property paper lost can will be used for registering it

My grandfather make will on my name but my property paper is lost .Can i take freehold on my property using will and get the property registered?

you will have to file a probate petition to get the property mutated in your name and that your relatives or other family members have no objection in case the probate is done. taking that order you can file for registration of the property in your name. but the papers are important to get the registration of the property. kindly apply for duplicate in case you want to avoid any problems

U have to file probate case in the court of district&session in respect to will for the property. So u have to engage a lawyer there. If u tell us the amount it will be more easier to enquire your query

even if the property papers are lost, then also a copy of the same can be procured from the concerned registry/ district court under who's jurisdiction you fall under and you can apply for a certified set of duplicate set of papers for your property concerned. And on the basis of such duplicate papers you can proceed to get your property freehold.
