Collecting payment for Indian customers

20-Aug-2023 (In Startup Law)
I have formed a company in the USA. But I want to collect payments from Indian customers. If I use some USA payment gateway then it will only allow payment through international debit card or credit card. I want to collect payment through UPI, net banking etc. So is it possible to collect payment for a USA company through UPI and transfer it to US bank account? Or I have to open a subsidiary company in India and collect payment in some Indian bank account? Or can I collect money on my personal account and then transfer the money to the company account in the USA? If I had to open a subsidiary company here then what will be the cost and what are the processes.

hi if you want to do business in India as a US based company you are at once regulated by FEMA regulations. The best choice for foreign companies is wholly owned foreign subsidiary. you need to register that in india and of course 100 per cent fdi should allowed for the industry you are operating in. There are many other issues which need to be seen before advising you further. I suggest you get back and get professional advice.
