Regd Conveyance Deed & all charges & who pays the charges. Builder asking each flat owner to pay Rs1000 as registration fees for conveyance deed & told to pay to lawyer account. Society has total 188 flats & society is registered/formed by builder. Need to know who has to pay the charges & what all goverment charges are to be paid for conveyance deed & who pays that, What all documents are required from each flat owner & society & builder for the conveyance deed

This is my response to you:
1. You will have to pay stamp duty if not paid;
2. Pay the registration fees which is nominal;
3. If only thousand rupees is payable by each member then it is reasonable;
4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.

The registration fee is 1% plus Rs.100 of the value of the conveyance deed. The Sub-Registrar Office will require 100/- as a pasting fee at the time registration.
