Will I lose my rights & dowry amount if I go for Divorce through khula

20-Dec-2023 (In Muslim Law Law)
My husband wants to get separated when I want to live together. Since he's stubborn on his word I gave consent for mutual divorce. We met his lawyer, but he says he'll get it done through khula and I've to initiate it. Will I be loosing any of my rights if I initiate it when I don't want it at all?? Can I get my dowry amount back?? Muslim woman

By the way, as u said that ur husband is going to initiate khula divorce, so according to khula divorce u cannot claim iddat amount and 3 months maintenance amount according to shariah law. But as u asked regarding the dowry amount, better u can impose a Condition stating that, unless and until he pays u the dowry amount. U will not accept khula divorce. As u know that if ur husband initate talaq, then it becomes compulsory to pay the iddat amount and maintenance amount by your husband. .hope I answered the question....
So before you proceed with the khula ask your husband to clear the dowry amount.

You can prefer to go for khula. But by putting some conditions to be fulfilled before khula is given by you. If you want your money back then first you should take your money back and then you can go for khula. Once you gave divorce to your husband by khula then you will not be left with any option.
