landlord stopped my cheque against my security what to do

I handed over the keys of my previous house to landlord on 31 January 2017. before this he checked each and every things twice and found all in order. thereafter, he released my security check and today i received a message from bank that the drawer has stopped the payment. Please advice what is the first step i should take and how to file a case against him.

You should firstly contact the landlord and ask him the reason for stopping the payment. If there is no legitimate reasonable excuse for it ,hire a lawyer and file a civil case against the landlord specifying your rent and tenancy agreement details and security amount you paid .

In the first instance you should serve the legal notice under sec.138Ni act thereby calling him to make the payment within 15 days. If he fails to comply with the same, A criminal complaint will be filed against him in the court. you may consult for assistance. Thanks.

Hello, Take legal action against landlord immediately, this is breach of contract/trust, and cheating. I hope you have rent agreement with him. There should be mentioned about that security deposit and on basis of that agreement you can take legal action.

Sir , you may issue legal notice to your landlord under section 138 of negotiable instrument act and if landlord fail to complaince than criminal complaint case against said person for compeling him for making him payment

It is important here to know that why Landloard has stopped payment of such cheque... whether it is due to insufficient fund in account if yes...he is liable for the offence under sec. 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act. For which i need to know more details to assist you in better way.
