Mostly your contract with the company provides for a notice period and also provides that in case you do not serve the notice period you would be liable to pay an amount equivalent to your salary for the notice period in lieu of it. Thus you will have to abide by what the contract provides for. Also if you do not abide by it you might not get your relieving certificate and experience certificate from the company.

Implications will depend upon the contract of terms and conditions of employment. Normally the contracts have a clause of foregoing the salary for the notice period. If you have such clause in the contract the salary for the notice period can be with held. You have not stated whether you are an employee or employer.

You will have to terms of your employment contacts to understand the implications which you may have agreed to, in the event you leave the organization without serving mandatory notice period. You employer may file lawsuits against you from breach of contract and recovery of money mentioned under your employment contract.
