Regarding joining after issuance of appointment letter

What can I do If the government department after issuing the appointment letter and reporting has held the joining saying that they need to verify character and antecedent and it's been more than 3 months? Is there any stipulated time limit for that?

You can file a suit for mandatory injunction in the present case in the civil court and if the department fails to give a satisfactory answer you can move a writ petition in the High court for relief which you will surely get

You may contact a lawyer and get a letter issued asking the timelines in a legal manner through an advocate to the directors. It can also file an RTI application through a lawyer and seek appropriate replies
